    The Raw Review - 18/05/2009

    Opening Segment

    Still Champion…Randy Orton

Orton very slowly made his way to the ring while stills of his match at Judgement Day are narrated by Cole and King.

Once in the ring he pointed out that he is still WWE Champion before going on to address Ric Flair’s appearance at Judgement Day.

Orton said he was proud that he had kicked every member of Evolution in the skull and then told Flair if he thought he saved Batista last night he is dead wrong.

After being called out The Nature Boy appears and ‘Woo’s’ his way down the aisle and in to the ring. He tells Orton that although he is still the Champion he did not beat Batista.

Flair talked about the Evolution days and how Orton was originally touted as ‘The Man’ but Batista blew past him and claimed that role for himself.

Orton disagreed and said that the title on his shoulder meant that he was ‘The man’ and he could beat Batista anywhere, any time.

Flair said this was perfect as in three weeks the two will meet at Extreme Rules in a Steel Cage Match.

Orton asks Flair to pass Batista a message before slugging him and delivering a beating. Priceless appear and look to be heading to join in but Batista appears and a 3 on 2 brawl ensues.

Cena then sprints to the ring and sends Legacy slithering to the outside.

After the break Josh Matthews asks Cena why he chose to get involved. Cena says that after beating Show at Judgement Day he needed to get back into the title picture.

Vickie then appeared and booked Legacy Vs. Cena and Batista.

    Match 1

    Divas Battle Royal
    Participants:
    Kelly Kelly
    Brie Bella
    Nikki Bella
    Rosa Mendes
    Beth Phoenix
    Jillian Hall
    Mickey James

The premise of this one is that the winning Diva gets a shot at WWE Divas Champion; Maryse, who was conveniently sat at ringside.

Rosa Mendes is Eliminated by Mickey James.

It didn’t take long for the first elimination and I doubt it’ll take long for the next.

Bella Twin #1 Eliminated by Beth Phoenix

I’m not sure which one and it didn’t seem Michael Cole was either, but one of the Bella’s got clotheslined over the top rope by Beth Phoenix.

Bella Twin #2 Eliminated by Beth Phoenix

Not 100% sure whether this classes as a legitimate elimination as they went through the ropes rather than over the top after Beth delivered a kick to the midsection. Cole said we were down to 4 seconds later though, and he wouldn’t be wrong about something like this would he…

Jillian Hall Eliminated by Mickey James

Three diva’s remain after Jillian’s elimination although Kelly Kelly is on the floor after a devastating assault by Beth Phoenix.

Beth Phoenix Eliminated by Kelly Kelly

Beth also went through the ropes so it must be a legal elimination. After hitting the floor Beth attempted to drag Kelly Kelly out of the ring, distracting the referee just long enough for Maryse to spray deodorant in Mickey James’ eyes on the other side of the ring.

Mickey James Eliminated by Kelly Kelly

Not realising what has just taken place, Kelly Kelly dumps Mickey under the bottom rope and picks up the win with minimal effort.

    Kelly Kelly wins the Match.

    Match 2

    Singles Match
    Santino Marella
    Vs.
    Chavo Guerrero

Santino (who now seems to be a firm fan favourite) is looking to get some retribution tonight after Chavo’s sneak attack at Judgement Day.

This was an interesting match from both guys and possibly the start of a very interesting rivalry.

In the end Santino stole a victory with a roll-up after Chavo ate the top turnbuckle.

After the match Chavo told Santino to tell his sister (Santina) to prepare herself as she will be defending the ‘Miss WrestleMania’ title tonight against none other than his Aunt Vickie.

    Santino Marella wins by Pinfall.

    Segment 2

Miz & Maryse? Matt speaks and Orton complains

Backstage The Miz bumps into Maryse and tries his luck to no avail. He tells her to tell everyone she knows that he has a big surprise in store for John Cena tonight.

After this Josh Matthews asks Matt if Vickie is rewarding him for what he did to Jeff at Judgement Day by giving him a U.S Championship match tonight.

Matt denies this and says he attacked Jeff because of what his brother did to his hand, then says Vickie is a fair G.M and has wiped his loss to Kofi Kingston from the record books.

Vickie then chews Chavo out for putting her in a match before Randy Orton bursts into her office to complain about the Cage Match.

Vickie asserts her position of power and Orton tells her she’d be wise to stay on his good side.

    Match 3

    Tag Team Match
    Primo & Carlito
    Vs.
    ‘The’ Brian Kendrick & Goldust

Kendrick’s search for a partner has seemingly begun with The Bizarre One, and before this match even begins I’m willing to go out on a limb and say this isn’t going to work out too well.

Before the bell we are shown clips of Goldust coming to the aid of Hornswoggle last week on Superstars.

Goldust starts the match but it doesn’t take long for Kendrick to start shouting abuse at him and demanding to be tagged in.

A little while later Primo picked up a convincing win for his team by pinning Kendrick after a Springboard Cross Body. Kendrick blamed Goldust and slapped him before the two squared up and looked ready to fight.

Hornswoggle then appeared and ran Kendrick from the ring.

Primo & Carlito win by Pinfall.

    Segment 3

    More Miz

The Miz made his way to the ring to Cena’s old music, dressed in his getup.

Miz explains that the music he just entered to is called ‘Word Life’ but he’s remixed it and re-named it ‘Nerd Life’.

He then proceeded to ‘rap’ about Cena in an insulting manner. It was pretty terrible if I’m honest, there were points where I wanted to turn it over just so I could have a break from cringing.

When Cena didn’t show The Miz declared himself 5-0. Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler then sprung to life and told Miz that the commercials are getting better ratings than his rap.

He then tells him that just because you’ve called someone out it doesn’t mean you have a victory over them if they don’t show up. He demonstrates this point by calling out Batista who doesn’t show.

He then did the same thing with Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin (which raised enormous pops from the crowd who I assume actually thought they all might show up) and said by Miz’s logic he had now won a 3 on 1 handicap match against them.

He told the Miz if he really wanted to put his money where his mouth is he should request a match from Vickie Guerrero and he says he might just do that.

As The Miz began to leave The Big Show’s music hit and the 7ft monster made his way to the ring with microphone in hand.

Show tells The Miz that make believe time is over and his business with Show is far from over. He announces that he and Cena will fight in a Submission match at Extreme Rules so The Miz will have to wait.

Miz tells show he will wait until Cena has beaten him before running from the ring and using King as a human shield in the process.

The Big Show attacks and chokes out King in frustration, then leaves the ring as referee’s rush to help.

After the break good ole’ J.R. is filling in for The King.

    Match 4

    United States Championship Match
    Matt Hardy
    Vs.
    M.V.P (c)

Hardy is still playing on the injured arm and the commentary team once again speculated on how injured he actually is as this match got under way.

J.R and Cole also discussed whether Hardy had earned this title shot by helping out Vickie Guerrero’s husband Edge last night at Judgement Day.

In the ring Hardy used the cast to his advantage at every opportunity which made it hard for M.V.P to sustain any offence in the early part of this match.

M.V.P then began to use the injured hand to his advantage by focussing his attacks and retained the title with a big boot in the corner followed up by a ‘Drive By’.

This was a pretty good match considering how many times Hardy and M.V.P have fought over the past few years.

M.V.P wins by Pinfall and retains the U.S Championship.

    Segment 4

One half of Evolution / Guerrero Training

Backstage Batista and Flair discussed Orton and Legacy. Flair said next week he is going to walk out to the ring and fight with Orton as just because he is retired it doesn’t mean he can’t fight.

When Batista questioned The Nature Boy’s judgement he said if Batista didn’t believe in him then he wouldn’t be accompanying him to ringside tonight.

We then cut to Chavo Guerrero who appears to be laying on the floor. As the camera pans out we see Vickie Guerrero standing on a sofa while Chavo tries to teach her how to hit a frog splash.

She says it isn’t going to happen and cancels the match before Santina walks in and delivers more pig-based insults which leads to Vickie confirming that the match is back on again.

    Match 5

    Miss WrestleMania No Disqualification Match
    Santina Marella
    Vs.
    Vickie Guerrero

J.R quips that this could be the biggest match he has ever called as the two ‘women’ make their way to the ring.

Santina grabs a microphone and continues to insult Vickie which prompts Chavo to make this a no-disqualification match.

Seconds after the bell Chavo jumps Santina and the two brawl back and forth while Vickie watches on.

Santina takes Chavo out of the picture and heads for Vickie but from nowhere William Regal appears and destroys her, leaving Vickie to pick up the pinfall and become the new Miss WrestleMania.

Vickie Guerrero wins by Pinfall and becomes the new Miss WrestleMania.

    Main Event Match

    3 on 2 Handicap Match
    Legacy
    Vs.
    Batista & John Cena

Legacy used great tag skills to take down Batista in the early going but The Animal finally made a hot-tag and exploded into the ring, taking out Rhodes and hitting the Attitude Adjustment.

Unfortunately Orton made the blind tag just seconds before and slithered into the ring, jumping Cena as he went for a pin cover.

Legacy once again took charge of the match and began isolating Cena this time, trapping him in their corner and making a series of quick and effective tags.

After what seemed like an age Batista got a hot-tag and tee’d off on Orton.

While this was taking place The Big Show appeared and led Cena backstage leaving Batista in a 3 on 1 situation, but The Nature Boy Ric Flair once again came to The Animal’s aid, levelling things up and allowing Batista to hit the Spear on Orton and pick up the three count.

Replays then showed that Flair had distracted The Big Show and handed Cena a chair to beat The Giant with when he made his way to ringside.

As the cameras finished rolling Legacy retreated up the ramp while Batista and Flair celebrated in the ring.

Batista & John Cena win by Pinfall.

    The ECW Digest - 19/05/2009

    Opening Segment

A good ole’ fashioned  sit down protest

When the cameras begin to roll we see Jack Swagger sitting in the ring. He says that what happened to him at Judgement Day was a travesty and he will not move until justice is done.

Two referee’s attempt to move him but he tells them he isn’t budging and if Tiffany wants him to move she will have to come out to the ring and tell him herself.

Right on cue she appears and makes her way to the ring, telling him to leave the ring when she gets there.

He tells her that he doesn’t have to listen to her because he is going to be around a lot longer then her. She says that if he continues to ignore her and sit in the ring she will make sure he never has another shot at the ECW Championship.

Swagger eventually does the right thing and exits the ring as the crowd jeer and boo him. Tiffany apologises for what has just happened then introduces Christian who will be competing in tonight’s opening bout.

As Swagger and Christian passed on the ramp the bitter ex-champ lashed out and sent Christian flying to the concrete where he appeared to twist his knee.

    Match 1

    Singles Match
    Christian
    Vs.
    Paul Birchill (w/Katie Lee)

I like Paul Birchill. I like Christian, but for some reason I didn’t really enjoy this match as much as I thought I would.

After the attack by Swagger, Christian’s knee became the focus of the match with Birchill going for it at every opportunity and Christian favouring it even after the slightest knock.

One of the things I hate most with regards to WWE matches is when a supposedly injured body part is focused on in a match. Especially when it is between two guys who could really have put something special together, but instead wrestle a relatively mediocre match involving a lot of submission holds and dull offense.

Christian picked up the win in this one despite the effects of the attack by Swagger, by hitting the KillSwitch.

After the match Josh Matthews asks him his opinions on what happened with Jack Swagger.

Christian said that if Swagger hated what happened at Judgement Day he is going to hate the next announcement. Christian then says the next person he will defend his title against is Tommy Dreamer, if he is up for the challenge.

    Christian wins by Pinfall.

    Segment 2

    Swagger explodes

Swagger complains about Dreamer getting the next title shot to Tiffany. She tells him to take the night off and he flips before doing exactly as he is told, leaving her office with his tail between his legs.

    Match 2

    Singles Match
    Zack Ryder
    Vs.
    Adam Green

This week Zack Ryder got to take on the ‘local talent’ rather than Vladimir Kozlov, although it had much the same result.

Ryder dominated Green from start to finish, debuting a couple of very unique moves to pick up the win.

    Zack Ryder wins by Pinfall.

    Segment 3

    Hart Attack and Kozlov

Backstage D.H Smith is warming up for his début match tonight. Natalya and Tyson Kidd join him and they talk about how they had got the jump on Finlay last week.

Natalya tells D.H that his dad would be proud of him and he replies by saying he should be as he is better than his dad ever was.

Kozlov then came out in full army regalia and delivered his usual nonsensical jibber-jabber promo, focusing mainly around…well I’m not quite sure at the minute, but there you go.

Finally for this segment Gregory Helms informs us from backstage that Dreamer Vs. Christian for the ECW title will take place on Thursday at Superstars.

Dreamer then said a few words about potentially becoming the champion.

    Main Event Match

    Singles Match
    Finlay
    Vs.
    David Hart-Smith

D.H made his entrance to a remixed version of Bret Hart’s theme, the start of which got my hopes up for like a split second until I realised it was actually the new Hart Foundation.

Finlay dominated in the early stages of the match but as things went on he gave D.H more and more openings which the youngster took advantage of and eventually took control himself.

Both men slowed the match down with their own submission holds but it was Smith who had an added edge of brutality, delivering punishing shots in conjunction with the hold.

As the match reached its conclusion both men ended up on the outside and as you’d expect Natalya and Kidd decided to get involved.

Finlay looked to have avoided the attack when he beat Kidd down and threw him into the guard rail, but while the referee was pre-occupied Natalya slid one of her boots into D.H which he happily wrapped around the Fighting Irishman’s head to pick up the three count.

Smith certainly isn’t to the same standard as his Father of his Uncle just yet but given time and the right push I believe he could be pushing for at leas the Intercontinental Championship this tine next year.

    D.H Smith wins by Pinfall.

    The Superstars Recap - 21/05/2009

    Opening Match

    ECW Championship Match
    Christian (c)
    Vs.
    Tommy Dreamer

For the second time this week Christian participates in the opening match of the show. I can’t decide if this is a good thing (he’s considered good at setting the pace of the shows and firing up the crowd) or a bad one (generally the main event is where you want to be, especially if you are defending a World Title.)

Christian supposedly hurt his knee on ECW and the way the commentators chattered on about nothing else for the first 5 minutes or so gives me the impression that it might become a factor in this match at some point.

Back and forth action kicked off this match but as soon as Dreamer hit any serious offence Christian immediately reached for the ‘damaged’ knee and continued to play on it for pretty much the rest of the bout.

Christian went for an all-or-nothing springboard to the outside pretty early in the match, missing Dreamer by a country mile and gifting the ECW original the upper hand for what seemed like the entire duration of the match.

Christian made several attempts to get back into the match but all seemed futile. It looked like Dreamer might have the match (and the title) within his grasp when Jack Swagger sauntered casually down to ringside and interjected himself.

After the match had ended Dreamer and Christian beat down Swagger before the two argued over the title belt in the ring, having a little tug-o-war with it.

    No Contest through Interference.

    Segment 1

    Jericho Interview

After a Jack Swagger promo Josh Matthews interviews Chris Jericho backstage. Matthews began asking a question about Rey Mysterio but Jericho cut him off and said that as he wasn’t facing Rey tonight it was irrelevant.

Jericho then went on to talk about his opponent tonight; C.M Punk. He said that his popularity seemed to come from the Money in the Bank briefcase, then said that being great was more than just having potential, which is all Punk has at the minute.

He threw in an insult or two directed towards the crowd then left looking fairly confident.

    Match 2

    Singles Match
    Kofi Kingston
    Vs.
    William Regal

According to Michael Cole this is a high profile match, can’t say as I agree but it should be a good one if nothing else.

Regal beat down Kingston in his usual rigid style for literally the entire match, until the Jamaican Sensation pulled out a ‘Trouble In Paradise’ and picked up the three count in what has to be considered an upset.

    Kofi Kingston wins by Pinfall.

    Main Event Match

    Singles Match
    Chris Jericho
    Vs.
    C.M Punk

Despite not being C.M Punk’s biggest fan I think this match has real potential.

Things started at a frantic pace and both men hit some impressive offence throughout. It was a very enjoyable match even though it didn’t really have any substance to it.

Jericho performed as well as he always does and I think I’d have to rate this as one of the best Punk 1 on 1 matches I’ve ever seen, in the WWE at least.

Punk picked up the win in a match that could have gone either way when he reversed the Walls of Jericho into an inside cradle that he was able to hold for the three count.

Jericho hit a vicious Codebreaker almost instantly after the bell and then smiled as the crowd showered him with ‘you suck’ chants while the show went off the air.

    C.M Punk wins by Pinfall.

    The Smackdown Summary - 22/05/2009

    Opening Segment

    Still Champion…Edge

Edge kicks off Smackdown after successfully defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Hardy at Judgement Day.

He says that there is now no argument as to who the face of Smackdown is and he doesn’t want any other superstars coming out and claiming it is anyone other than the Rated R Superstar.

He explains how Jericho and C.M Punk had lost their respective matches against Rey Mysterio and Umaga and as he destroyed Jeff he is still Champion and therefore the face of Smackdown.

Edge says Jeff is exactly the same as all his fans; a loser. Before he can continue this blatant self promotion Teddy Long’s music hits and the Smackdown G.M heads to the ring.

He says that what he saw at Smackdown was an atrocity and although he can’t reverse the decision because of Matt’s illegal interference he is booking a re-match for Extreme Rules.

Edge says that he isn’t happy excuses are still being made for Jeff, as although Matt did interfere it was the top rope Edgeocution (I called it as a superplex in the live results, apologies for that) that defeated him.

After being called a failure Jeff comes out from the back and says that Edge is right, he is a loser, a failure, overly reckless etc.

He then says that above all that he is a competitor and as all the matches at Extreme Rules are exactly that; Extreme.

He suggests that the two of them meet tonight with the winner deciding the stipulation and after a little persuasion from the fans Teddy Long agrees to make the match.

Incidentally Jeff’s promo skills seem to be improving, maybe he’s taken our advice and is getting some sort of training (or more likely he’s just having a good day.)

    Match 1

3 on 3 Tag Team Match
Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas & Ricky Ortiz
    Vs.
    John Morrison & Cryme Tyme

So Cryme Tyme finally have a match on Smackdown, and it looks like it’s set to be an outstanding one.

I don’t quite get why Ortiz is teaming with the World’s Greatest Tag Team as I thought he was more of a face, but apparently the very brief promo he cut before his match with Jeff Hardy last week was meant to be a heel turn. I guess I missed that.

Regardless of that he looked great throughout this match and if he can stay healthy and build on this ‘unwanted motivational speaker’ gimmick he could have a big future on Smackdown.

Cryme Tyme followed their usual structure of one man getting beaten down then (after a big struggle) getting a hot tag to a partner.

The climax of the match saw Cryme Tyme clear the ring (although JTG completely botched a clothesline over the top rope on Shelton and was lucky not to seriously injure the Gold Standard) before John Morrison hit ‘Starship Pain’ on Charlie Haas to get the three count.

John Morrison & Cryme Tyme win by Pinfall.

    Segment 2

    Melina Interview

Backstage Josh Matthews asked Melina what she thought about tonight’s No. 1 contender match for her Womens Championship. Melina said she came to do her best on Smackdown regardless of who it is against.

Alicia Fox then appeared and said Michelle McCool had asked her to pass on the message that the Womens Championship would soon be hers.

Melina asked Fox to tell Michelle that she shouldn’t send a girl to do a woman’s job, then slapped the taste out of her mouth for good measure.

There was then a promo video about the ongoing dispute between the WWE and the Denver Nuggets which again confirmed the FIVE on FIVE Lakers Vs. Nuggets match in which Legacy, The Miz and The Big Show will take on Batista, M.V.P, John Cena, The King and a mystery partner.

Our money is on Triple H or Ric Flair.

    Match 2

WWE Womens Championship No.1 Contenders Match
    Michelle McCool (w/Alicia Fox)
    Vs.
    Gail Kim

This is the ‘rubber match’ between these two competitors and carries a lot more emphasis than the other two as the winner gets to meet Melina for her Womens Championship.

McCool spent a lot of the match trying to take out the legs of Kim to prevent her fast paced, high flying style.

This match didn’t last as long as it could have done given the skill of both women. It looked to be over early when Kim locked in the Flying Dragon submission but Michelle somehow managed to get to the ropes and break the hold.

Kim once again looked to be heading for a win when Alicia Fox interjected herself into the match behind the referee’s back.

Despite not actually hitting any offence and getting thrown into the ring post for her troubles, Fox’s distraction was enough for McCool to capitalise and hit the Faith Breaker for the win.

Michelle McCool wins by Pinfall and becomes the No.1 Contender for the WWE Womens Championship.

    Segment 3

    J.R. Interviews Rey Mysterio

J.R. first asks Rey about his thoughts on retaining the I.C. title at Judgement Day.

Rey says that Jericho is very talented in the ring but he is also talented about running his mouth, and the best bit of the match was being able to hit the 619 when Jericho had explicitly said he wouldn’t let him.

Rey then says he’s moving on from Jericho because he knows there are a lot of young guys who would love a shot at such a respected championship belt.

He lists a few of the greatest I.C. Champions which comes back round to the late, great Eddie Guerrero.

J.R. then asks Rey why he wears a mask.

He says it’s because he is ugly and you wouldn’t want to see his face, but then says he is joking and explains that it is due to his lucha heritage. He says it took many years for him to earn the right to wear a mask and the pride and honour means he will never take it off in competition.

He says to have the mask removed is the biggest mark of dishonour that can be shown to a luchadore and also that it looks cool and gives him some sort of power.

He finishes the segment by saying that without the mask he simply wouldn’t be Rey Mysterio.

This is the best promo I’ve ever seen Mysterio cut and it actually made me warm to him a little, because up until now I wasn’t exactly Rey’s biggest fan.

It also looks like the ‘unmasking’ storyline has been given the green light.

    Match 3

    Singles Match
    Chris Jericho
    Vs.
    C.M Punk

    A re-match from literally a day ago… great.

For an overview of the match just scroll up a little bit to the Superstars Main Event then come back here to find out if the end of this match differed at all.

It turns out it did. Punk hit a GTS and looked like winning although Jericho slid to the outside. Seconds later Umaga appeared with a leather strap and began beating Punk before tying him up in the corner with the strap and beating him some more.

Finally The Samoan Bulldozer grabbed a microphone and spoke in English for (I think) the first time since he acquired the gimmick. He challenged Punk to a Samoan Strap Match at Extreme Rules.

    C.M. Punk wins by Disqualification.

    Match 4

    Singles Match
    Dolph Ziggler
    Vs.
    R-Truth

J.R. started the commentary of this match by saying that the Smackdown roster is incredibly athletic from top to bottom.

Perhaps not the best thing to announce during a match that has such strong links with The Great Khali, who he began talking about a few minutes later.

This match ended before it got going when Ziggler pulled R-Truth from the second rope and hit a very impressive finishing manouver which I can only describe as a kind of Russian Leg Sweep meets Backstabber/Reverse Codebreaker.

Another solid win for Ziggler but his celebrations were cut short when Khali (accompanied by Runjin Singh) blocked his exit.

After what would normally be described as a cheap shot from R-Truth, Ziggler managed to avoid Khali and flee through the crowd.

    Dolph Ziggler wins by Pinfall.

    Segment 4

    Eve Vs. Layla/Jericho Vs. Rey

After a recap of the past couple of encounters between Eve and Layla we are told they will finally meet in the ring next week… Yipee?

Jericho then meets Teddy Long backstage and demands he face Mysterio again. Teddy tells him the match has already been made as Rey requested it earlier on; No Holds Barred at Extreme Rules.

This begs the question why Rey said he was moving on from Jericho, then without any provocation decided he would like to face him at Extreme Rules.

    Main Event Match

    Singles ‘Stipulation Choice’ Match
    Jeff Hardy
    Vs.
    Edge

The winner of this match gets to choose the match stipulation at Extreme Rules.

At the start of this match J.R. admitted he called the Edgeocution as a Superplex at Judgement Day, so it looks like I wasn’t responsible for the wrong call and I retract my previous apology :P .

This was a very good match despite most of it focusing on the possibility that Jeff may be suffering from a concussion.

As good as this match was, the problem is that it was still just a rehash of what we saw at Judgement Day and more than likely a toned down version of what we will see at Extreme Rules.

I might be old fashioned in saying it, but I much prefer it when the two superstars booked for a PPV try and avoid facing each other one on one as far as possible.

This match would have been better served being a Tag Match interoperating another rivalry, perhaps C.M. Punk and Chris Jericho.

There seems to be tension building between Edge and Jericho, something that could have been furthered by having them team together with a lot on the line for Edge and nothing on the line for Jericho.

Looking at it as a stand alone match however, it was very very good. Plenty of near falls, a lot of high risk offence and a very good conclusion which saw some impressive finisher reversals.

The match looked like finishing in exactly the same way as Judgement Day when Jeff took a little to long to hit a Swanton and Edge set him up for the Edgeocution.

However, this time Jeff fought back and threw his opponent Edge from the turnbuckle before hitting a Swanton, picking up the victory and the right to name the match stipulation at Extreme Rules.

After the match Todd Grisham asked what kind of match it will be at Extreme Rules and he decided on a Ladder Match.

His promo delivery also seemed to have taken a big step backwards, seemingly confirming that the decent one he delivered earlier was more by luck than judgement.

    Jeff Hardy wins by Pinfall.
