The Superstars Recap
Opening Match
Tag Team Match
Santino Marella & Chris Masters (w/Eve)
Vs.
Jack Swagger & William Regal
It’s looking like NXT guys are only going to appear on NXT, because this would have been a great opportunity for Regal to show off his Rookie Skip Sheffield, who didn’t get a spot on Tuesday.
Instead he’s teamed with Swagger in a kind of Ex-ECW vibe.
Despite Skip Sheffield not being involved here, we certainly heard a lot about WWE’s new show, with Cole and King mentioning it at every oppertunity.
Santino went for ‘The Cobra’ early on, but unsurprisingly it failed to hit it’s mark and he got dominated for the rest of his time in the ring.
He eventually tagged in Masters, who cleaned house until Regal caused the distraction, allowing Swagger to strike with the Gutwrench to pick up the three.
Not a bad match really, I expected a lot worse.
Jack Swagger & William Regal win by Pinfall.

Match 2
Singles Match
Zack Ryder (w/Rosa Mendes)
Vs.
Primo
So Ryder is on Raw too. Did Smackdown get anyone other than Ezekiel Jackson from the ECW pool?
I guess we’ll find out tomorrow night.
I’m sure you guys will be pleased to know Michael Cole is back to his usual fun-loving self tonight after his bizarre semi-heel turn on NXT.
Word is Cole upset a lot of the WWE Universe with his comments about the indy circuit, so perhaps tonight he’s trying to regain his position as a neutral play-by-play guy.
I like Ryder, I don’t mind Primo, but I just found it really hard to pay attention to this match.
Rosa Mendes proved to be the deciding factor here, distracting Primo long enough for Ryder to recover and hit the Zack Attack after ducking a Flying Press.
Comment of the night has to go to King, who said after the win ‘A few more victories like that and he’ll be able to afford the other leg on his tights.’
Zack Ryder wins by Pinfall.
Match 3
Singles Match
Luke Gallows (w/Serena)
Vs.
Sylas Young
Interestingly the Straight Edge Society now have a proper logo which appears next to their name during their introduction.
C.M Punk clearly didn’t deem this squash match worthy of his presence. Before the bout Gallows showed some personality, taking the microphone and dedicating the match to his leader.
I did some digging on Sylas Young (or Silas as he is known outside of the WWE) and found his personal website, although the latest piece of news on there was from 2005, so I’m not sure how accurate the info was.
He’s from Green Bay and lists some of his influences as Rey Mysterio, Ricky Steamboat and the late, great Eddie Guerrero.
He didn’t get to show if any of those influences had affected his wrestling style here however, as Gallows destroyed him and put him down with the 12 Steps.
Luke Gallows wins by Pinfall.
Main Event Match
Tag Team Match
Matt Hardy, The Great Khali & Maria (w/Ranjin Singh)
Vs.
The Hart Dynasty
We already saw this match on Smackdown last week so I won’t beat around the bush here.
Matt Hardy’s rookie watched on from the back as his mentor came close to winning the match numerous times only to lose to the Hart Attack.
I don’t really like how THD continually get put against the same team week in/week out, but as long as they are getting the wins I don’t suppose it’s too bad.
The Hart Dynasty win by Pinfall.
