    The Superstars Recap

    Opening Match

    Singles Match
    Ezekiel Jackson
    Vs.
    Vladimir Kozlov

Yes, despite it being Christmas we’re still bringing you coverage of all four WWE shows (albeit a little late.)

The first interesting thing to note is the change of the WWE Ident video that plays at the start of all on-screen shows.

I thought I noticed a few differences on Raw/ECW but thought little of it, until I noticed it once again at the start of Superstars and decided to check it against an old DVD I had lying around.

From what I could tell both mentions of Hulk Hogan have been completely removed, the first (and least noticeable) has been dubbed over with a mention of Freddy Blassie, while the second ‘Hulkomania’ cry has been covered by The Million Dollar Man’s catchphrase ‘Everyone’s got a price!’

Anyone who thought the first official meeting between Kozlov and Jackson would be good, think again.

The crowd were dead, I assume because they feel the same way as everyone at WWEBlog and couldn’t care less about Kozlov, much less warm to him as a face or a ‘hard done by’ member of a faction.

After some back and forth in the ring the fight spilled to the outside, where both men got counted out.

This match ends in a Double Count Out.

    Match 2

    Singles Match
    Primo
    Vs.
    Chavo Guerrero

As a Christmas present I treated myself to watching this match without writing a single word, and despite not really caring about Primo and having very little respect for Chavo due to his long-running rivalry with Hornswoggle, I really enjoyed it.

This match was about as close as you’ll get to being ‘all about the wrestling’ in the WWE this year.

Primo’s father, the great Carlos Colon was in attendance for this match and I’m sure he’ll have been impressed with the performance his son put in, despite coming up short against Chavo.

Chavo needed more than a little luck to take the win though, escaping out of an attempted Slam and inadvertently hanging Primo backwards over the top rope.

From there he was just a Frog Splash away from the 1..2..3.

    Chavo Guerrero wins by Pinfall.

    Segment 1

    Ask The Divas

Now I know how kids in the ‘old days’ felt when all they got in their stocking was a piece of coal.

I must have been naughty this year, because I’m being punished with yet another edition of Ask The Divas for Christmas.

How do you deal with Holiday Stress? - Shop.

In a match between Santa, Hannukkah Harry and Dominick the Italian Christmas Donkey, who would win? - WTF?

Now I know the sceptical of you out there will think I made up that second question as a scathing attack on how utterly ridiculous this segment is every week, but the truth is they did that all by themselves.

Yes, this was a legitimate question allegedly asked by a fan and selected especially for the Divas to answer.

    Words honestly fail me.

    Segment 2

    Business Picks Up

When the action returns the NEW Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre is already in the ring, wearing a rather sharp suit and clutching his title belt.

After stills of his controversial victory over John Morrison at TLC are shown he kicks off by talking himself up in his usual style of shameful self promotion.

As he is talking about making good on his promises and Mr. McMahon’s profecies of him being ‘The Chosen One’, John Morrison emerges from the back.

He asks him if he’s heard that on New Years Day they have a re-match for the IC title.

McIntyre tells Morrison to live it up on New Years Eve because the following day ‘The Party’s Over’.

Morrison questions why he always talks about the party coming to an end, then tells him that on New Years Day he’s going to take his title back.

The two scuffle with Morrison getting the better of it, hitting the Starship Pain.

    I can’t believe it.

A Smackdown on New Years Day as well? Damnit!

    Main Event Match

    Singles Match
    Kane
    Vs.
    Mike Knox

Remember a few minutes ago when I gave myself an early Christmas present by watching the Chavo/Primo match in full?

Well I’m going to treat myself yet again here and spin right to the end of this quite frankly lame main event.

    Kane wins.

    What? You want more detail?

Ok; Knox jumped from the top rope, only to be caught in a Chokeslam which ends the match in the Big Red Machine’s favour.

    Kane wins by Pinfall.
