The Superstars Recap – 24th September 2009
24/09/2009
Hello and welcome the all new Superstars Recap.
After getting some pretty good feedback we’ve stuck with the new Weekly Rundown layout for now.
We’d still love to know what you think about the changes so please feel free to get in touch via the Contact Us page, or any of the usual email addresses.
(By the way, the banners are purely temporary. We kind of rushed this idea through at the last minute and didn’t have time to get anything a bit better made.)
On with the show!

The Superstars Recap
Opening Match
Singles Match
Chris Masters
Vs.
Primo
Chris Masters opens Superstars for the second week running, this time against Primo.
Masters began the bout by completely dominating Primo and it looked like things could be over soon when he grabbed a 2 count after a Powerslam.
Primo finally showed some signs of life, first avoiding a Leg Drop then delivering a Mule Kick to avoid being caught up in the dreaded Masterlock.
The end of the bout saw Primo once again avoid the Masterlock, dropping out of it and rolling Masters up for a shocking 3 count.
Primo wins by Pinfall.
Match 2
Singles Match
Goldust
Vs.
William Regal (w/ Jackson & Kozlov)
I liked the program between Goldust and Sheamus, it put the fresh faced Celtic Warrior over well without making Goldust look like a joke or a has-been.
Now Sheamus has moved onto feud with Shelton Benjamin it’ll be interesting to see if The Bizarre One continues to take on Regal and Co. or if they will move back towards the ECW Championship.
This match was an evenly fought contest until Ezekiel Jackson made his presence known, striking Goldust. However, the referee spotted the interference and called for the disqualification.
After the bell Regal locked on the punishing Regal Stretch until Christian, Dreamer and Yoshi Tatsu ran in to make the save and swing the odds in favour of the good guys.
Goldust wins by Disqualification.
Match 3
Divas Tag Team Match
Layla & Michelle McCool
Vs.
Maria & Melina
I smell a lack of communication between Melina and Maria in this one, probably to end the match.
Maria looked less than impressed at having to team with her former best friend in this match, although the two Divas showed signs of teamwork in the early going.
Maria spent most of the match taking a beating from the opposition and eventually lost to a big Kick to the face from Michelle, after Layla had knocked Melina off the apron to cause a distraction.
Layla & Michelle McCool win by Pinfall.
Segment 1
Ask The Divas
This week the Divas were asked if a guy should ask his ex back out and for weight loss tips.
As you’d expect there were no amazing answers and it surely can’t be long before this ‘feature’ becomes a WWE.Com exclusive.
Main Event Match
Singles Match
Matt Hardy
Vs.
Kane
As you’d expect this wasn’t an epic bout, but it wasn’t terrible either.
Interestingly Kane hasn’t lost (by Pinfall or Submission) since returning to Smackdown a few months ago, which speaks volumes about who his feud with The Great Khali was designed to push.
Hardy spent most of the match battling uphill, trying his best to avoid the punishing offence of The Big Red Machine while trying to ground him at every opportunity.
Hardy came closest to a pinfall victory with a 2 count after a big DDT, however he did eventually get the W in his column by way of disqualification, after Kane very deliberately dumped him on the top rope.
After the bell Kane hit Matt with a Chokeslam before leaving up the ramp with a demonic smile spread across his face.
Matt Hardy wins by Disqualification.
