    The Superstars Recap

    Opening Match

    Divas Match
    Kelly Kelly
    Vs.
    Gail Kim

Not quite sure why two of the three Team Raw Divas are battling it out here when this could have been a cross-promotional match to hype the match at Bragging Rights.

That said this was one of the better Divas battles I’ve seen in a while.

While this match went on we found out that Kelly Kelly plans on being a broadcast journalist when she’s done in the ring, she’d make a good backstage interviewer I guess.

Kelly Kelly picked up the win here with the Kelly Killer, a Leg Drop to the back of the neck, using the opponents back as a springboard.

Almost as soon as the bell rang Kelly checked on Gail to make sure she was ok, helping her to her feet.

    Kelly Kelly wins by Pinfall.

    Match 2

    Tag Team Match
    Ezekiel Jackson & Vladimir Kozlov
    Vs.
    Tommy Dreamer & Goldust

Interestingly Jackson and Kozlov came to the ring separately for this match, not showing too much team spirit.

I use the term ‘interestingly’ as it will likely be the most interesting aspect of this match, unless Goldust gets hold of a microphone or something.

Skipping hastily to the end of the match (something I was unfortunately unable to do, as much as I wished that I could) Goldust picked up the victory over Kozlov with the ‘Golden Age’ after a cheap shot from Dreamer while Jackson had the referee distracted.

Instantly after the bell Jackson and Kozlov struck back, destroying both of their opponents before standing dominant in the centre of the ring.

Ezekiel Jackson & Vladimir Kozlov win by Pinfall.

    Main Event Match

    Tag Team Match
    R-Truth & Matt Hardy
    Vs.
Drew McIntyre & Eric Escobar (w/Vickie Guerrero)

Well, it’s a clean sweep of distinctly average matches on tonight’s Superstars.

The best aspect of this match was actually getting to see Escobar perform, something we didn’t get to see a lot of on Smackdown when he got squashed by Matt Hardy, only to grab the victory at the death.

All four guys looked pretty good, but McIntyre and Escobar in particular worked very well together and picked up the win to take momentum into Bragging Rights.

The win, as you’d expect, wasn’t a clean one.

As Vickie distracted the referee with her usual screeching, Escobar hung Hardy up on the top rope, allowing McIntyre to hit him with the Double Arm DDT and claim the pinfall.

Drew McIntyre & Eric Escobar win by Pinfall.
