    The Superstars Recap

    Opening Match

    Singles Match
    Shelton Benjamin
    Vs.
    Zack Ryder (w/Rosa Mendes)

Here we go again, will this be 3rd time lucky for Zack? Or more likely, will Rosa inadvertently cost him yet another match? Let’s find out.

Benjamin was able to take advantage of a distraction early on, bringing Ryder into the ring the hard way while he was checking on Rosa.

Shelton dominated from this point, grounding Ryder at every opportunity until he made the mistake of heading to the outside, where Ryder capitalised and slammed him into the steel steps.

When the action returned from commercials Ryder was very much in control, picking Benjamin apart with hard shots, chokes and submission holds.

After knocking each other down with double Cross-Bodies, Ryder’s cell phone began to ring. Mendes answered it, then threw it into the ring, following it in seconds later.

As Ryder attempted to find out what was going on, Shelton went for the big splash, only to stop himself when he realised he was going to hit Mendes.

Ryder took advantage of this, slamming him from the second rope and picking up a victory.

Looks like it was indeed 3rd time lucky.

    Zack Ryder wins by Pinfall.

    Segment 1

    Ask The Divas

Once again Superstars persists with the Ask The Divas segment.

This week they were asked if they believe in love at first sight (Melina giving an ultimately confusing response with ‘I do and I don’t') and what they think is the best way to break the ice on a date.

    Snore…

    Match 2

    Singles Match
    Eric Escobar (w/Vickie Guerrero)
    Vs.
    Jimmy Wang Yang

It looks like our WWEBlog Informer might have been right in this weeks edition of The Informer, as Escobar has been bumped to Superstars.

Todd Grisham (who incidentally kept referring to Escobar’s opponent as Jimmy Yang Wang) explained that the reason he hasn’t been on Smackdown/Superstars for a while is a personal demonstration of disrespect for the WWE.

    Yeah, right.

This match didn’t run very long at all and after a distraction from Vickie, Escobar picked up the win with a kind of Big Boot/Dropkick move that was pretty impressive.

    Eric Escobar wins by Pinfall.

    Main Event Match

    Singles Match
    Cody Rhodes
    Vs.
    Mark Henry

So last week we saw M.V.P take on Ted DiBiase, and now we have the other half of Legacy taking on the other half of The Worlds Strongest Tag Team.

With it being PPV week we’re a bit short on time here at WWEBlog towers. So, with that in mind I did skim over this match.

The big story to come out of this one is how well Cody held his own against a much larger, much more experienced opponent.

He grounded the big man at every opportunity and came close a couple of times, but it was Henry who picked up the win after hitting a Worlds Strongest Slam.

The absence of M.V.P and Ted DiBiase was also noteworthy, as I would have expected them to be in their respective corners.

Team Kofi seem to have a distinct advantage so far going into Survivor Series, will Team Orton be able to turn things in their favour on Smackdown? Join us to find out!

    Mark Henry wins by Pinfall.
