The Superstars Recap
Opening Match
Singles Match
Cryme Tyme
Vs.
Mike Knox & Dolph Ziggler
Due to work commitments I haven’t got as much time as I used to, and as a result I’ve had to decide to trim down coverage of a couple of shows.
As it’s the ‘D’ show ‘Superstars’ is going to be the one that suffers.
However, judging by tonight’s card I’d have to say that if I were to bring you a full set of results we’d be the ones that suffered, so it might be a good thing.
The only positive thing I can say about this match is that it wasn’t The Hart Dynasty fighting out of the heel corner.
Ziggler and Knox worked pretty well together but Cryme Tyme continued Knox’s run of bad form, picking up the win when JTG hit the Shout Out for the 1..2..3.
Cryme Tyme wins by Pinfall.
Match 2
Singles Match
Vance Archer
Vs.
Tommy Dreamer
Please don’t be Tommy Dreamer… Please don’t be Tommy Dreamer.
Oh, it’s Tommy Dreamer.
That makes this the first of two re-matches tonight, with M.V.P and Jack Swagger going 1 on 1 for the millionth time in the main event.
Archer dominated Dreamer for the majority of the match and grabbed a 2nd win over The Hardcore Icon who put up little resistance.
Vance Archer wins by Pinfall.
Main Event Match
Singles Match
M.V.P
Vs.
Jack Swagger
Anyone tuning into Superstars late might have easily thought that the provider they were watching on had accidentally run last weeks episode by mistake.
Sadly, that wasn’t the case and this was just a re-hash of last week’s main event.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind seeing the same people fight.
I could watch The Rock and Austin go at it week in/week out and struggle to get bored, but when it’s a completely uninteresting feud where very little changes, it becomes very tedious, very quickly.
Last week I wrote:
“I’ll long story short this one for you, because it wasn’t anything fresh. Plenty of back and forth, a couple of near falls on both sides, but Swagger picked up the win with a Gutwrench Powerbomb after kicking out of a devastating Big Boot.”
This week wasn’t a great deal different, except this time M.V.P picked up the win with a Boot/Playmaker after avoiding the Gutwrench.
Looks like we’ll be seeing them go again in the near future.
M.V.P wins by Pinfall.
