    The Superstars Recap

    Opening Match

    Singles Match
    Santino Marella
    Vs.
    Jack Swagger

We’re kicking off Superstars with the hotly anticipated (yeah, right!) match booked by Carl Edwards on Raw, following an attack from Swagger prior to the Rumble that led to Santino missing the big event.

Before the match Santino expresses his anger towards Swagger, saying he’s going to teach him such a lesson tonight that by the end of it he’ll be calling him ‘Professore’.

After a strong start from Swagger, Santino began to fight back into the match, stunning The All American American with a dropkick.

Swagger regained control until Santino began to ‘Hulk Up’ and prepare the Cobra.

Swagger dodged it and picked up the win with a Gutwrench Powerbomb seconds later.

Has that Cobra ever even connected?

This wasn’t as awful as I thought it’d be. Still finding it hard to care about Swagger though.

    Jack Swagger wins by Pinfall.

    Segment 1

    Ask the Divas

Great, a Valentines edition of the most pointless re-occuring segment since ‘GTV’ (and at least that was funny.)

This week the divas were asked what would make a good present for a man, or if valentines should all be about the girl.

Lingerie was probably the best answer.

Next they were asked who they would choose as a Celebrity Valentine. Answers ranged from Bob Barker and Christopher Walken to The Rock and Jonny Depp.

    Match 2

    Singles Match
    Zack Ryder (w/ Rosa Mendes)
    Vs.
    Christian

A moment of silence please for the last EVER ECW match on Superstars.

What? No one cares? Oh, alright then let’s get on with it.

This match was touted by the commentary team as a way for both these guys to ‘sell’ themselves to the big two, but surely if that was the case Christian shouldn’t really have even been involved.

As the longest reigning champion in the WWE right now (and possibly longest reigning ECW Champion since it’s rebirth) I’d guess that the writers will have both brands fighting over acquiring his services anyway.

I’m personally hoping that Ryder gets drafted to Smackdown, so he can team up with Dolph Ziggler and create possibly the best tag team the WWE has ever seen! (Note I said ‘possibly’.)

Anyway, Christian continued his momentum here going into the LAST EVER ECW Championship match next week, picking up the win with the KillSwitch.

    Christian wins by Pinfall.

    Main Event Match

    Singles Match
    JTG
    Vs.
    Dolph Ziggler

As JTG made his way to the ring it became apparent that maybe Cryme Tyme aren’t as popular as they used to be.

While he danced his way down the ramp the camera periodically cut to different points of the crowd, where a grand total of TWO fans were seen dancing along.

Ziggler dominated this match almost completely, so I was pleasantly surprised when he also pulled out the win with a ZigZag after a brief comeback from JTG.

Nothing amazing, but a win is a win.

I think ECW has been hard done by to be honest, getting scrapped while this show stays on the air.

    Dolph Ziggler wins by Pinfall.
