    The Superstars Recap

    Opening Match

    Singles Match
    Dolph Ziggler
    Vs.
    Finlay

Another quick Superstars Recap this week, with TLC just around the corner.

Ziggler finally picked up a win last week over Matt Hardy, although it doesn’t seem like it was enough to elevate him back onto Smackdown, as once again here he is on Superstars, against arguably a weaker opponent.

This was the usual stuff from Finlay; using the ring skirt as an ally, delivering stiff rights and lefts etc, while Ziggler played his consummate heel role, turning the match with almost-but-not-quite illegal offence.

Ziggler picked up a second win in as many weeks here, hitting a Zig Zag out of nowhere to continue what is hopefully a long and prosperous run.

    Dolph Ziggler wins by Pinfall.

    Segment 1

    M.V.P Interviewed

Normally at this point I’d be bringing you some dull and disappointing responses to questions members of the WWE Universe had posed to the Divas.

However, this week there is a change to the usual running order, and instead we get Josh Mathews interviewing M.V.P.

I’ll be honest, it was only marginally better than the usual.

M.V.P talked about his upcoming main event match against Jack Swagger. He said he and Swagger respect each other, but they certainly don’t like each other.

Montel makes fun of Swagger’s speech impediment as the segment comes to a close.

    Match 2

    Tag Team Match
    The Hart Dynasty (w/ Natalya)
    Vs.
Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J

As I saw the Hart Dynasty waiting for their opponents in the ring there was only one thing going round and round in my head: ‘Not Cryme Tyme, Not Cryme Tyme, Not Cryme Tyme’.

As I saw Jimmy Wang Yang and Slam Master J making their way to the ring a few seconds later, my thoughts turned to: ‘Come back Cryme Tyme, all is forgiven’.

This is a prime example of the writers shoving two guys with no direction together in a pointless ‘themed’ tag team.

I say themed as Jimmy has ditched his cowboy hat in favour of one of SMJ’s do-rag’s.

Thankfully The Hart Dynasty dispatched this team fairly easily, the high points of the match no doubt being Natalya slamming Wang Yang and Kidd débuting a new (and very impressive) finisher.

The Hart Dynasty win by Pinfall.

    Main Event Match

    Singles Match
    M.V.P
    Vs.
    Jack Swagger

Last week’s Superstars was probably one of the best in a long time, so by comparison this week has been quite frankly awful.

Before the bell Swagger talked about how as an All-American American he is held to higher standards than people such as M.V.P, as people look up to him.

He harped on about how M.V.P is from the streets (similar to promos during the tedious feud they had a few months back) then said he didn’t have a lisp, it’s just how his name is pronounced.

I’ve a horrible feeling that is going to be the most entertaining part of this match.

There seems to be a huge delay before M.V.P’s music finally plays, not quite sure what all that was about.

I’ll long story short this one for you, because it wasn’t anything fresh. Plenty of back and forth, a couple of near falls on both sides, but Swagger picked up the win with a Gutwrench Powerbomb after kicking out of a devastating Big Boot.

    Jack Swagger wins by Pinfall.
