    Segment 1

    Introduction

As usual Ashley Valence introduces the Pros, but as it’s the final, the ones that still have Rookie’s left in the competition appear with microphones and bring them out themselves, although Kofi Kingston kind of botched his intro.

Sucks to be Michael McGillicutty I guess, especially when filling in forms.

Once all three Rookies and 4 Pro’s are in the ring Matt Striker takes over.

He welcomes the 5 eliminated Rookies, who are all sitting at ringside and get a moment each to revel in the crowd’s admiration (or not in the case of most of them) before we get down to business.

Striker sells exactly what’s on the line, then tells us what we all knew already; there will be a double elimination tonight.

He then books all three rookies in a Triple Threat match and hops out of the ring just before things break down.

Kaval dumps The Miz on his ass, then Kofi Kingston flips him over the top rope while Michael McGillicutty hurls Alex Riley over the top.

    Segment 2

You’ve GOT to be KIDDING ME

Matt Striker might think he was the one dropping the bombshells tonight, but in actual fact Josh Matthews and Michael Cole are the ones that do so, announcing that NXT Season 3 will be an All-Divas affair.

    Seriously?

I don’t even enjoy watching the ‘fully trained’ Divas that much, a whole season of NXT is going to be god awful.

Diva Search sucked and this is going to be like 100 times worse.

Anyone out there want to cover the next Season of NXT for WWEBlog? Because I seriously don’t want to do it.

The Rookie/Diva pairings announced were as follows:

    Pro: Kelly Kelly
    Rookie: Naomi

Naomi can apparently sing, rap and even dances in her matches, being a former Orlando Magic Cheerleader.

    Just what we need!

    Pro: Alicia Fox
    Rookie: Maxine

Maxine is apparently almost as fiery as her Pro and has Champagne tastes with a Champagne budget.

    Pro: Goldust
    Rookie: Aksana

    Wait, what happened to All-Diva?

Anyway, Aksana is a Lithuanian lovley and that’s about as much as we know about her.

    Pro: The Bella Twins
    Rookie: Jamie

Oh Joy, the Bella Twins, and what’s even better they are mentoring the ring announcer with precisely 0 personality.

Wow, next season is really shaping up to be god awful isn’t it.

    Pro: Primo
    Rookie: A.J.

Primo may as well have just handed his notice in when Carlito got the Axe.

A.J. claims to be a candidate for all the nerds out there, although I’m not really sure why.

    Pro: Vickie Guerrero
    Rookie: Aloisia

Man it gets worse and worse doesn’t it.

Vickie Guerrero, having never really wrestled a proper match in her life, is now qualified to be a Pro I guess.

It seems she lucked out and got the ‘best’ Rookie though, in 6ft9 Aloisia, who judging by her initial promo finds it difficult to buy tops that can properly contain her heaving bosom.

    Main Event Match

    Triple Threat Match
    Alex Riley (w/ The Miz)
    Vs.
    Michael McGillicutty (w/ Kofi Kingston)
    Vs.
    Kaval (w/Lay-Cool)

Man, I was really pumped up for tonight’s show but that announcement has really dampened it for me.

Sometimes I really have to motivate myself to watch Superstars, but NXT Season 3 is going to be even worse.

I really don’t have anything against Divas, from what I’ve seen of the Womens division on TNA it’s very entertaining, but Lay-Cool are a perfect example of what the WWE is currently doing with the Divas Division.

They barely get a chance to show off their skills in the ring and instead cut umpteen childish, poorly written, nonsensical promos, and I’ve got a very good feeling that’s all NXT Season 3 is going to be.

As for this match, it was really good stuff.

Kaval shined brightest for me, but Riley and McGillicutty both looked good too.

Alex Riley picked up a somewhat undeserved win, dumping Kaval from the top rope and picking the scraps to take the 1..2..3 over a prone McGillicutty.

    Alex Riley wins by Pinfall.

    Segment 3

    The First Elimination

Before we find out the first elimination Matt Striker goes down the panel of former Rookies asking who they thought would win.

Titus O’Neil and Eli Cottonwood both went for Alex Riley, with Cottonwood saying he was the most likable.

Lucky Cannon turned heel and said it doesn’t matter who wins because they flushed the show down the toilet when they eliminated him.

Percy ‘Oh Yeah’ Watson gave McGillicutty the nod, because he works hard and Husky Harris agreed, saying he was born better just like him and his pro Cody Rhodes.

The titan-tron began to cycle through the three guys, finally stopping on…

    Alex Riley!

Wow, big shock there, although if the public vote did come into it then I can see why it’s happened.

As The Miz ranted at the top of the ramp, Striker asked for some final words.

Riley said that his father wasn’t a wrestler and he hasn’t spent years of his life wrestling in back alleys to make a name for himself, but he’s still managed to make it this far which shows people obviously think he is the most talented man in the competition.

He said if he was a betting man, he would STILL put all his money on Alex Riley being the future of the WWE.

    Closing Segment

    And the Winner is…

Before we find out who the Season 2 winner is, Matt Striker gives both guys a chance to explain to the other why they should win.

Perfect Jr. goes first and cracks some lame jokes about Kaval being a big baby and having a rubbish name.

Hmm, guess he hasn’t seen his own name for a while. McGillicutty<Hennig.

Kaval talks about his background, saying he’s got as far as he has with just a high school diploma and a deep voice.

He says that he’s earned respect around the world, taking on legends such as Eddie Guerrero, not just gaining credit for being a 2nd generation Superstar trained by Harley Race.

Following commercials Matt Striker announces that the winner of NXT Season 2 is…

    KAVAL!

I have to say I think the right guy won, although I would have liked to have seen Husky Harris in the final, he really impressed me towards the end of the competition.

The only bad I can see in this outcome is that I think Kaval could probably have made his own way into the WWE based on his character, whereas I think McGillicutty could have done with the whole ‘NXT Season 2 Winner’ moniker, given that the whole 2nd generation thing has been done so well by Rhodes, DiBiase and Orton.

After the decision McGillicutty turned heel, saying Kaval’s PPV match is going to suck and that he is nowhere near the same level as him.

He says that since he started NXT his only goal has been to become World Heavyweight Champion, and although tonight was a set-back, he’ll get there eventually.

He promised to be the future of the company, the next big thing, the next generation and a big wheel in the WWE machine for years to come, and that this will be the start of the genesis of McGillicutty.

As Kaval began his acceptance speech Lucky Cannon, Husky Karris, Eli Cottonwood, Percy Watson and Titus O’Neil piled over the guard rail, into the ring and jumped him.

As the five of them beat him down the NXT Pros hit the ring to make the save, but did a pretty bad job.

McGillicutty and Alex Riley then joined the fray and the whole thing broke down into a mass brawl.

The eliminated Rookies then beat the hell out of Kaval, each delivering their finishers.

I’m not sure why, but at one point Riley hit Percy Watson with his finisher, only for the pair of them to stand shoulder to shoulder a few moments later, it didn’t really make a whole lot of sense.

Michael McGillicutty stood over Kaval shouting and screaming about how he should have been the winner as the show cut to a Season Montage.
