    Segment 1

    Introduction & The Nexus

Ashley AND Striker are on introduction duties tonight, which actually makes things doubly annoying.

They bring out the Pro’s who sit to the right of the entrance ramp, then bring out The Nexus (minus Darren Young) who sit to the left.

Barrett says that a triumphant return to NXT is the best way to celebrate a monumental win over John Cena last night.

He wishes the Rookies all the best and warns the Pros that The Nexus just want to sit back and enjoy the show, so he hopes they aren’t planning to start any trouble.

    Match 1

    Tag Team Match
    The Miz & Alex Riley
    Vs.
    Mark Henry & Lucky Cannon

A lot of the NXT matches are pretty easy to call, because you generally side with the Rookie being pushed the most, in this case Alex Riley.

However, with Mark Henry getting absolutely decimated (or at least thrown into a podium) on Raw, this one became a little more complicated.

Henry really needed a victory here to bounce back and he got just that, picking up the pinfall over Alex Riley with a Worlds Strongest Slam.

After the bell Henry grabbed a trash can and dumped it all over Riley, in a somewhat unfair payback for the indignity he suffered on Raw.

Good opening match that got almost half the show.

I have to admit I like Riley, he’s kinda like what Chris Nowinski could have been had he not suffered a career ending injury.

Still undecided on Cannon, but he didn’t do anything to upset me in this one, just nothing that really wowed me either.

A video for Riley played after the match, with a lot of good being said about The Miz’s youngster.

Mark Henry & Lucky Cannon win by Pinfall.

    Segment 2

    Showtime!

It’s time for Percy to get his reward from last week.

He said that it didn’t take him long to decide who he wanted on his show, then brought M.V.P to the ring.

He thanked his Pro for all the advice and it ended up being a little love-in, with both men kiss-assing each other.

    Then it got strange.

Percy said that M.V.P had always told him to seize his opportunities, so that’s exactly what he’s decided to do tonight.

All the other NXT Rookies pile out from the back and join him in the ring.

M.V.P says that he never rolls to a party alone, and brings the Pros down to join him.

Matt Striker interrupts proceedings and states the obvious, then books an over the top Battle Royal.

Wade Barrett chimes in and says The Nexus are the most important part of this show, and the six of them would love nothing more than to be involved in the Battle Royal, because of the every man for himself style.

He proclaims that he will win the match, and Striker throws them into the mix.

    Main Event Match

20 Man Over the Top Rope Battle Royal
    Participants:
    The Miz
    M.V.P
    ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes
    Mark Henry
    Kofi Kingston
    John Morrison
    Zack Ryder
    Percy Watson
    Kaval
    Lucky Cannon
    Husky Harris
    Alex Riley
    Eli Cottonwood
    Michael McGillicutty
    Wade Barrett
    David Otunga
    Heath Slater
    Michael Tarver
    Justin Gabriel
    Skip Sheffield

This is going to be a hectic one, but I’ll try and keep check of it the best I can.

    Order of Elimination:
    1. Mark Henry
    2. Eli Cottonwood
    3. M.V.P
    4. Lucky Cannon
    5. Percy Watson
    6. Michael McGillicutty
    7. Alex Riley
    8. Husky Harris
    9. Kaval
    10. Zack Ryder
    11. The Miz
    12. John Morrison
    13. Kofi Kingston
    14. Cody Rhodes

The Nexus ducked out of the ring almost instantly while everyone else ganged up on Mark Henry and dumped him out.

They then focused on Henry and picked him apart, which turned out to be a trend for the first few eliminations, as they battered anyone unfortunate enough to go over the top.

However when M.V.P got dumped to the outside John Morrison and Kofi Kingston dived through the ropes to assist him, drawing them into the bout.

For the record I didn’t see Lucky Cannon go, but I assume it was around M.V.P’s elimination as I didn’t see him at any point afterwards, even after rewinding the footage a few times.

Zack Ryder rather surprisingly manned up and began getting in The Nexus’ face until The Miz dumped him over the ropes and attempted to ingratiate himself  with them, reminding them that he helped them in Season 1.

The Nexus seemed to want no part of the deal, and upon realising that The Miz hurled himself over the ropes.

With the situation down to 3 on 6, ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes decided to perch in the corner rather than battling, leaving Kingston and Morrison to a 6 on 2 beatdown and eventually eliminations.

With a 6 on 1 situation imminent Cody Rhodes attempted to reason with The Nexus, to no avail.

With everyone else eliminated the bell rang and the ring announcer (for some reason) declared The Nexus as winners.

I thought this was an every man for himself Battle Royal, I didn’t realise there was a team aspect to it.

After the bell The Nexus did what they always do, beating down anyone they could get their hands on with a finisher-fest.

After the match, with the fans showing their distaste for The Nexus, Matt Striker asked Wade Barrett what he thought of their reaction.

He told Striker to get out of the ring before things turned ugly, then talked about how The Nexus have proved they can make a difference in the WWE regardless of their ‘Rookie’ moniker.

He barked on about ‘the bigger picture’ until Matt Striker interrupted him and asked if they were proud of what they did to Cena on Raw.

Barrett says he is proud of everything he’s ever done in a WWE ring, and proud of the people that stand next to him in the ring, because ‘You’re either Nexus, or you’re against us!’.

New catchphrase, it’s a shame they can’t freshen things up a bit, the week in/week out attacks are getting a bit old now.

    The Nexus win by Elimination.
