Opening Segment
The Abraham Washington Show With Tiffany
Before ECW started properly a promo video hyping the Tatsu Vs. Christian ECW Championship match played.
I’m still not sure if it was bumped from Bragging Rights or not, but regardless we’re going to see it here tonight.
After the credits the ring announced introduced Hall of Famer Tony Atlas, who in turn introduced Abraham Washington, who in turn (eventually) introduced Tiffany.
Tiffany emerges to what I believe is a new entrance music, with her arm still in a sling.
Washington and Atlas complement her on how hot she is before getting down to business and asking why ECW had Zero impact at Bragging Rights.
Tiffany says that ECW actually had a big impact at Bragging Rights because a lot of the people on the card got their big break in the land of extreme.
Washington then asks her about why she let Sheamus go and she told him that Sheamus wanted to leave so she said he could, as long as he had one last match tonight against Shelton Benjamin.
Finally Abe asked about the condition of her arm, but before she had chance to answer William Regal and his ‘Ruthless Roundtable’ made their way out onto the stage.
Regal says he’s come out here to appeal to Tiffany one last time, imploring she give him what he deserves; an ECW Championship match.
She refuses him a match tonight and tells him that he might not ever get another shot at the title, wrapping up the segment herself and leaving a rather ‘besmirched’ Regal to destroy the set (and by destroy the set I actually mean flip over the table a few times.)
Match 1
Singles Match
Sheamus
Vs.
Shelton Benjamin
A little bit of news to report regarding the commentary teams.
Matt Striker has been temporarily re-assigned to Smackdown in order to cover JR’s absence (which you can read more about in the current edition of The Weekly Informer) and taking his place on ECW is the relatively, ok completely unknown Bryon Saxton.
As Sheamus postured in the ring, backstage Savannah asked Shelton how he feels about this being his last chance to take on The Celtic Warrior.
Shelton says that perhaps Sheamus was right last week when he said The Gold Standard’s tenure in the WWE has been mediocre at best, but then he realised that Sheamus is actually a coward who jumped him from behind and is now running off to Raw despite not doing an awful lot to impress anyone.
Shelton dominated the opening stages of the match but it didn’t take long for Sheamus to start displaying why he’s been moved over to the Raw brand, executing some very nice offence and completely controlling the pace for a long period.
Saxton has what I would describe as a near perfect commentating voice. It has a kind of gentle hum to it and based on how well he called this match, I’d say he’s going to have quite a promising career ahead of him, provided a spot becomes available.
The conclusion of the match saw Sheamus leave the land of extreme with yet another victory, hanging Shelton up on the top rope before delivering a Pump Kick to pick up the 3, just moments after narrowly avoiding a defeat at the hands of a bridged German Supplex.
Sheamus wins by Pinfall.
Segment 2
Tell Tales
Backstage Rosa Mendes is telling Gregory Helms how much she is loving being on ECW when Paul and Katie Lea Burchill show up.
Katie Lea tells Rosa to leave and Burchill tells Gregory Helms to tell his friend The Hurricane to meet him in the ring next week.
Basically a lot of telling went on.
Segment 3
Christian Interviewed
Backstage Savannah asks Christian how he feels about facing Yoshi Tatsu.
Christian praises Tatsu’s ability and hypes him up as a future ECW Champion, but says that isn’t going to happen tonight.
He says that he’s been somewhat of a mentor to Tatsu and tonight he is going to teach him a very valuable lesson; How to cope with defeat.

ECW Championship Match
Christian (c)
Vs.
Yoshi Tatsu
This match has been given some serious show time, perhaps to make up for its absence from the Pay Per View.
Things started off pretty slowly, with both guys vying for the upper hand but eventually cancelling each other out.
Truth is I’m getting a little sick of seeing the title on Christian now. I think he’s probably the most worthy holder on the ECW roster, but I don’t think he should still be on the ECW roster period.
If he were to lse tonight, the one saving grace would be that he might ‘do a Sheamus’ and jump to one of the bigger brands, where he would easily slip straight into the World Heavyweight/WWE title picture, which are looking a little weak and more than a little stale on both the blue and red brands.
Tatsu scored a number of 2 counts throughout the middle of the match, but never did quite enough to pick up the win and soon Christian regained control, wearing down the challenger with counters and submission holds.
Tatsu remained competitive and as he reversed the KillSwitch for the second time in the match it looked like he might stand a chance.
However, it wasn’t meant to be for the young prospect and after getting caught with the Fulcrum Prison Blues and a diving Shoulder and, finally fell victim to the KillSwitch, which he had avoided twice already throughout the course of the match.
After the bell Christian went to check on Yoshi, only to be jumped by Regal and his cronies, who did a number on the champ and left him lying in the centre of the ring as the show went off the air.
Christian retains the ECW Championship by Pinfall.
