The Weekly Informer – 20th October 2009

Welcome to The Weekly Informer
Hello folks, and welcome to the second instalment of gossip, which I have painstakingly been acquiring from in and around the WWE locker rooms.
We’ll get the bad news out of the way first I think…
Goodbye Captain Lou
While it’s not really gossip, I felt as a long time WWE fan I should say a few words about the dearly departed Captain.
‘Captain’ Lou Albano sadly passed away this week aged 76, after reports had surfaced of his ill health.
The Hall Of Famer, who was mainly involved in the tag team circuit, managed many tag champions, including the British Bulldogs. Albano came into the WWE under Vincent J McMahon in the 1960s, and remained a loyal servant to Vincent K McMahon.
He shot to his most prominent fame in the 1980s, helped by his appearance in Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Girl’s Just Wanna Have Fun’ music video, and his huge personality really did win everyone over.
Thanks for the crazy memories Lou!
Former Diva in Hospital Scare
Someone who nearly joined the ‘Captain’s Crew this week is Torrie Wilson.
The former WWE diva suffered an adverse reaction during treatment to her thyroid problems while in hospital, and apparently came very close to death.
Luckily she is back on the mend now.
I personally wouldn’t mind seeing her back on our screens either, she is one of the ‘fitter’ divas if you ask me.
Arquette ‘Ready to Rumble’?
Expect David Arquette to be hosting Raw sometime in the near future.
Arquette, is who is already known in the wrestling world for his controversial WCW championship run, is planning to make a return to the squared circle.
Lets just hope he forgets his wrestling trunks.
No More Shane-O-Mac?
As of 1st January 2010, Shane McMahon will walk away from WWE, a decision which has saddened many, including Vince.
It is still unclear as to why Shane McMahon is no longer going to be involved, although rest assured the file for this rumour is still open and we’ll keep you posted!
Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010 In Stores Now!
Still undecided about purchasing Smackdown vs Raw 2010?
Have a peek at some screen shots HERE and see what you think, or read JayD’s preview article HERE to find out more about this year’s new features.
The Greatest Loudmouth of all Time
The Honky Tonk Man has reportedly been crowing about a pulled match between himself and Santino Marella at Wrestlemania XXV.
Honky claims he was up for the match, and was willing to let Santino pin him to pass on the baton as ‘Greatest Intercontinental Champion Of All Time’.
What?!
As Bret Hart so succinctly put it, Honky looked like and WAS a phony wrestler.
No wonder the match got pulled, I’m sure creative haven’t had to make an easier decision all year.
I Hate to Say I Told You So…
But, I told you so…
Last week I revealed that Drew McIntyre would be getting a huge push as Triple H is a huge fan.
It transpires that not only is Triple H a fan, but fellow DX member Shawn Michaels also holds the young Scot in high regard.
Whilst these two guys are not exactly popular in the dressing room, they do have significant influence over most issues and are likely to be pulling the strings in McIntyre’s favour, perhaps even making him look good at Bragging Rights.
Smackdown would be the best place for him to receive a main event push, as The ‘Raw Big Four’ of Cena, Orton & DX really do seem to have things tied up over there, depending on the outcome of the Iron Man Match of course.
Cash for Gold
Finally, perhaps Mr. McMahon watched a little daytime T.V. during the WWE’s last visit to the U.K as rumour is some of the WWE title belts will be getting an overhaul in the next few months.
Maybe the chairman saw how many companies are willing to offer good money for old gold and decided to cash in while rates are high.
The End Bit
Well thanks for reading everyone.
Remember, if you have any gossip you think I’d appreciate drop me an email at informant@wweblog.co.uk or use the Contact Us page specifying that it should be forwarded to The Informant.
Same time next week you can rest assured I’ll be back with some more ‘truthful rumours’!
After all, would I lie to you?
