    The Weekly Informer – 16th December 2009

    The Weekly Informer

    Welcome to The Weekly Informer

Welcome folks to the last edition of The Informer for 2009.

After spending much time and effort squeezing all of the gossip I can from various sources, the festive period shall give me a great chance for some much needed R&R.

Although the next edition will not be until January (a Bumper New Year Edition, hopefully) WWEBlog owner JayD and myself are hoping to appease you all by arranging a special feature interview, which will appear on the site around the Christmas/New Year period.

    Laying the ‘Foundations’ on Raw

Now then, the first piece to talk about has to be that name-drop bombshell on this week’s Raw.

In the very first Informer article, I mentioned the possibility of The Hitman, one of the least likely people walking the earth to work with WWE again, teaming up with Vince and co once more.

The Hart Dynasty are gaining more and more credibility (now they have finally stopped the Cryme Tyme marathon) and would be an obvious choice for Bret to manage.

It could well be that something featuring Hart (be it as guest host or manager) is set up for the D-Day; 4th January, when WWE will go head-to-head with TNA for the first time and Hulk Hogan will début for the enemy.

Again the Shawn Michaels issue has to be looked at, because unless Bret has buried the hatchet with him and Triple H, it would be very unlikely to see them working together on the same show.

Time will ultimately tell, but with a new Hart Foundation DVD currently in the offing, there is surely no smoke without fire on this occasion.

    Call Me Nostradamus

Speaking of Bret’s family, not since the glory days of the great British Bulldog & Rowdy Roddy Piper have the UK (& Ireland) had so much coverage and general domination over the WWE as is the case now.

Sheamus and McIntyre, both names I, *ahem* tipped to gain gold, now are WWE & Intercontinental champions respectively.

I would expect/hope that both men have these titles until WrestleMania, to build up heat and really cement their places as top heels.

Whether or not this happens remains to be seen, although the WWE Championship really could do with the same person holding it for a while, as it has changed hands more times than a hot potato these past few months.

    The Drugs Don’t Work

With Umaga being the latest in a long line to pass away at an early age recently, coupled with fresh rumours surrounding chair shots to the head leading to brain damage, good ol’ JR made the following quote on his website, www.jrsbarbq.com:

“I do encourage all wrestling organizations to instill as stringent a testing program as is possible for concussions, heart issues, etc and to monitor how many days an individual is booked either monthly or annually. Plus, establishing a zero tolerance policy regarding drug abuse is a gimme. Being in the wrestling business should be a privilege not one’s right. If one accepts the glory and money one can earn as a successful wrestler in a major company then they should have no issue being a good citizen and living a clean life.”

On a side note, former Doink the Clown Matt Borne has checked out of a rehab program and is now in the running to become a WWE road agent and JR himself is now tipped to sign a contract extension with WWE before 2010.

    Rated WM Superstar?

Injuries look to be clearing up for WWE, with Edge making a good recovery these past few weeks and now reportedly well on course for his Wrestlemania return date.

This would coincide nicely with Rey Rey exiting to have surgery on a knee problem, being what looks like a straight babyface swap, with Jericho again talking down Edge this past week on Raw.

As Jericho-Taker at Wrestlemania had been rumoured as a back up in case Edge was not ready, mentioning him again and HBK’s challenge to the Deadman makes you wonder if the Rated-R superstar is now firmly back in Vince’s plans.

    Ready to Rumble

Another superstar waiting in the wings is Bryan Danielson. He is still in the Las Vegas area, working out and tuning himself ready for the call into action. With a strong influx of new talent now seemingly breaking through, it remains to be seen when his debut shall be. Having said that, any new talent can always look to the 30-man Royal Rumble in January to make a mark.

    The End Bit

That’s all for this week folks.

Thanks again for reading everyone, and may I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year, filled with gossip of course…

If you spot anything you think I might like to sink my teeth into, drop me an email here.

I’ll be back again next in the new year with more of the hottest rumours and behind the scenes gossip.

    I promise.

After all, Would I lie to you?
