The Weekly Informer – 3rd November 2009

Welcome to The Weekly Informer
Hello folks!
Can you believe it’s time once again for some more reliable informing.
Last week ended in a flurry of activity surrounding Hulk Hogan and his apparent capture by TNA. Now the details are a little clearer, so it seems a good place to start this week.
Hulk Still Rules
So, Hulkamania is back once more.
But why?
Is it the money? The Hulkster has appeared in several interviews this past week (mainly promoting his new book), one of which took place on Larry King Live, which I had the pleasure of watching.
He feels that he still has an awful lot to contribute to the business, and his long standing on/off relationship with Vince McMahon appears to be firmly in the ‘off’ position again.
Hulk has joined TNA with the intention of kicking off a new Monday Night War, similar to the classic WWF/WCW battle that raged on during the 90′s.
Now with a new partner and fresh outlook on life after going through, by his own admission, very dark days, Hulk wants to prove he can be as big a promoter as Vince.
The initial reaction from WWE headquarters appears to be quite dismissive, as Hogan is known for not putting many wrestlers over cleanly, combined with the fact that his enemy Vince Russo is now dictating proceedings in TNA.
To Pull or Not to Pull
The only factor that appears to be a huge concern for the WWE is that a special DVD collection of Hulk’s matches is due for release in the near future, and having just seen him join TNA, it would either mean a big marketing loss in pulling the DVD or a whole heap of attention focused on someone that is now employed by their biggest rival.
Alumn-bye
An interesting sidenote to all of this is that although as expected Hulk Hogan has been removed from the WWE alumni site, curiously so has the ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair.
The two are currently together for the Hulkamania tour, but could this removal mean there is more to come from Hogan and Naich in TNA?
Canned Heat
One guy Hogan (and possibly Flair) won’t be squaring off against is Booker T, who is now a free agent.
Could he be in line for a swift WWE return?
Unlikely in the near future, probable in the distant.
An Edge-ucated Guess?
Someone whose future is also in doubt is Edge.
The Rated-R Superstar has not received the most encouraging news regarding his comeback date, and the Wrestlemania 26 appearance that has been pencilled in is currently more in hope than anything else.
Candice Goes from Go Daddy to Go Mummy
Now for some good news.
It has been announced that former Diva Candice Michelle is pregnant. Congratulations!
Old Format Surviving?
It’s rumoured that this year’s Survivor Series is going to be a more traditional event with 4v4 line ups to undercard the two triple threat title matches already set up.
Personally I would like to see an event without a title match.
With PPVs now being so frequent, one without the gold on the line would help build a stronger storyline, but then Im not Vince.
End of a Legacy?
Finally, something to keep an eye on is the imminent face-turn of Ted Dibiase, which could well start at Survivor Series.
The Legacy member is the lead in The Marine 2 and would ideally need to be a face to coincide with the film promotions.
The End Bit

I promise.
After all, Would I lie to you?
