The Super-Special Bumper New Years Edition of The Weekly Informer

Welcome to The Super-Special Bumper New Years Edition of The Weekly Informer!
Happy New Year everyone, I’m back at last!
I hope you enjoyed the special interview about yours truly over Christmas, I’m in no doubt that it was probably one of the best presents you got this year.
A few people have e-mailed me asking what my New Year’s Resolution is for 2010. Well, after careful consideration I’d have to say that it’s to bring the WWEBlog readers the very hottest behind-the-curtain gossip as often as I can!
So with that in mind, let’s get right to the juicy stuff!
Trumpet Blowing
I’d like to kick off this bumper edition by giving myself a big old pat on the back.
In the very first edition of the Weekly Informer, way back on the 13th October 2009, I said that there were rumours of a Bret Hart return.
Need I say more?
Secondly, it looks like my crystal ball was once again correct as Eric Escobar has now been given his marching orders by the WWE decision makers.
Possible Exits?
After this latest departure the rest of the locker room have apparently been put on notice; hit the mark or face the axe.
Id’ uggest that a couple more could be in line for the chop, with Mike Knox topping the list.
Someone else who could have jeopardised his position within the company is Kofi Kingston.
During the recent #1 Contendership Triple Threat Match between Kofi, Orton and Cena on Raw, Kingston badly oversold a weak shot from Ted Dibiase, then stood up when he should have stayed down and taken a Punt from Orton.
Orton used the RKO to pick up victory but was visibly annoyed at how Kingston messed up the ending.
An incident similar to this, involving Orton, was the beginning of the end for Kennedy.
Here’s a video showing the end of the match.
(You can also see the ’shot’ from DiBiase in the replay that follows)
Rated R Royal Rumble?
28 Royal Rumble entrants have been named, with no great surprises.
So what of the other 2 spaces?
My sources tell me one could be earmarked for Edge, but that is solely dependant on his recovery.
Wrestlemania is now very attainable for the Rated R Superstar, so perhaps a brief cameo in the upcoming PPV can kick-start the underlying rivalry with former tag partner Jericho, who seems to have nothing better to do than find different ways to show up on Raw recently.
Rumbling Towards WrestleMania
So who will win the inaugral battle royal?
Triple H Vs. Sheamus at WM26 would be a viable option, although if we are to see HBK Vs. Taker again then the Showstopper has to pull out a win.
Depending on what happens in the Orton Vs. Sheamus bout, Legacy may have already imploded come the Rumble match, making a DiBiase (who my sources tell me is in line for a face turn and push) win to set him up against Orton at ‘Mania a very good outside bet.
The Streak to End?
This year’s Wrestlemania is already proving to be a hotly anticipated one.
Bret Hart returning to face Vince in some form or another may steal the majority of headlines, but what about the Undertaker and his illustrious streak?
Those closest to the Dead Man speculate that he is in bad shape, and retirement is not far away at all.
Will the Deadman ruin his outstanding record in order to put over a younger guy? I certainly wouldn’t rule it out.
Elsewhere leading up to Mania, Punk against Rey Mysterio would seem the realistic option, if Rey’s knee can hold up.
Hair vs Mask? We shall see.
The Big Squared Circle in the Sky
Sadly during the 2009-2010 crossover, the Grim Reaper of wrestling took 2 more victims.
‘Dr Death’ Steve Williams lost his battle with cancer and Ludvig Borga - formerly with WWE during the mid 90’s - died in decidedly more suspicious circumstances.
At this point suicide has not been ruled out.
TN Eh?
Finally, I’ve had quite a few emails this week regarding Kurt Angle’s status within TNA.
Now, contrary to popular belief, I don’t follow every Wrestling organisation out there, just the gossip, so I did a bit of research.
Basically TNA re-created The Montreal Screwjob and Kurt Angle ‘quit’ on air, saying he was going to go back to the WWE.
I’ve spoken to my sources and can confirm that WWE has no involvement with Kurt Angle at this time, and it was indeed all a storyline.
It’s quite worrying for TNA that they are recycling something that happened in the WWE over 12 years ago, and then again more recently with The Undertaker & C.M Punk.
The End Bit
That’s all for this Bumper Edition guys.
Before I leave you all, I’d like to remind everyone to cast their vote in the People’s Choice Award.
If you spot anything you think I might like to sink my teeth into, drop me an email here.
I’ll be back again soon with more hot gossip from the world of Professional Wrestling, so stay tuned!
I promise.
After all, Would I lie to you?
