The Bash 2009 Confirmed Matches

Find out what matches are currently scheduled to take place at The Bash 2009.
Womens Championship Match
Singles Match
Michelle McCool
Vs.
Melina
With the help of Alicia Fox, Michelle McCool has beaten her way through almost the entire Smackdown roster and finally gets a shot at the Womens Championship at The Bash.
Melina will undoubtedly be her biggest challenge yet and the current Womens Champion has every chance of retaining the title, provided Alicia Fox is kept at bay.
Grudge Match
No Disqualification Match
Dolph Ziggler
Vs.
The Great Khali
When Dolph Ziggler issued an open challenge to the Smackdown locker room almost a month ago, surely the last person he would like to have seen approaching the ring is The Great Khali.
That being said the new-age Mr. Perfect hasn’t backed down from the challenge and has even gained two victories over the Punjabi Playboy, although they were under slightly dubious circumstances.
Khali will no doubt be out for revenge and has to be seen as the favorite, but Ziggler has proven his is smart enough to outfox the giant and a win in his first 1 on 1 PPV outing would be a real feather in the up and comer’s cap.
ECW Championship Match
Championship Scramble Match
Christian
Vs.
Jack Swagger
Vs.
Tommy Dreamer (c)
Vs.
Finlay
Vs.
Mark Henry
Dreamer managed to claim both the ECW Championship and a new contract at Extreme Rules. Since then he has defended the title successfully in a rematch against Christian but come The Bash the odds will certainly be stacked against him.
The Championship Scramble begins with 2 Superstars, the others entering at 5 minute intervals, lasting 20 minutes in total.
Each pinfall or submission captures the title for that respective Superstar, regardless of who is on the receiving end.
The Superstar that scores the last pinfall/submission come the end of 20 minutes will be crowned the ECW Champion.
Dreamer has an 80% chance of losing the title and in a match where anything could happen there are no favourites, but there is no doubt that the ECW Original will give it his all in an attempt to keep the title he has worked to hard to acquire.
Grudge Match
Singles Match
John Cena
Vs.
The Miz
For weeks now The Miz has been calling out Cena, knowing full well that the former WWE Champion had his hands full with a 7ft monster.
The cocky former reality T.V. star has insulted every aspect of Cena’s career, from his rap music to his leading movie roles and come The Bash, The Miz may be wishing he had chosen someone else to use as a springboard for his own career.
Intercontinental Championship Match
Belt Vs. Mask Match
Rey Mysterio
Vs.
Chris Jericho (c)
After stripping Mysterio of both his mask and his Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules, Jericho now looks to prevent him from hiding behind his headgear in a more permanent way.
Mysterio failed to regain the title in his contractual rematch at the Raw 3-for-all but still insisted on facing the 9-time Intercontinental Champion, Chris Jericho at The Bash.
After initially denying the request flat out Jericho spotted an opportunity to ‘free’ Mysterio and offered him the shot if he agreed to put his mask on the line.

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Singles Match
C.M Punk (c)
Vs.
Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy now has the dubious honour of being the shortest ever World Heavyweight Champion, all thanks to the 2-time Mr. Money in the Bank; C.M Punk.
When Punk decided to cash in his contract just seconds after a gruelling Ladder Match at Extreme Rules, he technically did nothing wrong. However, Jeff Hardy and many members of the WWE Universe failed to see it that way and turned on the new Champ.
Since then he and Jeff have been on a somewhat strange collision course and at The Bash they will finally meet 1 on 1 for the gold.
WWE Championship Match
Three Stages of Hell Match
Randy Orton (c)
Vs.
Triple H
Bout 1: Standard
Bout 2: Falls Count Anywhere
Bout 3: Stretcher
Orton and Triple H have been at each other’s throats for months now and a Three Stages of Hell match seems like the next logical step in a rivalry that has already seen them do so much to each other both inside and outside of the ring.
Triple H surely has to be the favourite for this bout, as there have only been two examples of this match and he prevailed in both, but if Orton has shown anything recently it is that he will go to almost any length to win and no doubt his Legacy will have a part to play in the outcome.
Will Orton retain his title or will Triple H avenge Batista and Flair by re-gaining the WWE Championship? Follow our Live Results to find out!
