    Intercontinental Championship Match
    Rey Mysterio
    Vs.
    Dolph Ziggler

Great opening match for SummerSlam with both guys giving a fantastic performance, the ending let it down slightly though.

Result: Rey Mysterio retains the belt after reversing a second rope Gutbuster into a Huricanrana.

    Segment 1

    Swagger & M.V.P Interviewed

Swagger and M.V.P hyped the upcoming match, playing further on the cultural differences between their upbringing.

    Singles Match
    M.V.P
    Vs.
    Jack Swagger

Nothing special here. M.V.P took a big bump early on in the match and it never livened up from there.

Result: M.V.P wins by Pinfall after a Drive By and Playmaker.

    Segment 3

Betty’s Battle & Freddy Prinze Jnr.

Nancy O’Dell promoted the charity ‘Betty’s Battle’ and asked FPJ about his guest hosting of Raw.

Nothing particularly interesting, FPJ said he’d be back when Orton least expected it, so let’s hope Orton’s expecting it in tonight’s main event, so he doesn’t get involved.

    Unified Tag Team Championship Match
Chris Jericho & The Big Show
    Vs.
    Cryme Tyme

Before the match Jericho insulted the celebrity contingent of the L.A. crowd, then the rest of the L.A. crowd before moving on to some shameless self promotion.

Result: Jericho covers JTG for the 3 after a huge right hand from The Big Show. Jericho & Show retain the titles.

    Segment 4

    C.M Punk Interviewed

Punk called everyone in L.A fake and said he would win the title tonight, the usual kind of preachy thing.

    Singles Match
    The Great Khali
    Vs.
    Kane

The end of the match was as bad as the rest of it. Kane dragged Runjin Singh into the ring then took advantage by hitting a low Dropkick and DDT to pick up the win.

Result: Kane wins by Pinfall after a DDT.

    Tag Team Match
    D Generation X
    Vs.
    Legacy

DX’s entrance was nothing short of amazing; Explosions galore, a truck full of U.S Soldiers that fired guns, green smoke everywhere and to top it all off Triple H and HBK rode to the ring on a tank which fired green fireworks from the turret.

I’m glad they haven’t gone over the top with this DX return.

Match of the night and contender for Match of the Year. I don’t care what else happens tonight, it isn’t going to top that.

Result: DX win by Pinfall over Cody Rhodes after a finisher-fest which ended with a Sweet Chin Music.

    ECW Championship Match
    Christian(c)
    Vs.
William Regal (w/Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson)

Regal lost in what seemed to be record time for an ECW Championship match.

    This was a real disappointment.

Result: Christian picked up the win with a KillSwitch after about 5 seconds.

    WWE Championship Match
    Randy Orton (c)
    Vs.
    John Cena

The only way to describe this one is pure chaos.

Orton lost by count out, disqualification and won by cheating before finally picking up a victory that was allowed to stand, after somebody from the crowd had attacked the referee just as Cena looked like winning with a STF.

Result: Randy Orton wins by Pinfall after an R.K.O.

    World Heavyweight Championship TLC Match
    C.M Punk
    Vs.

    Jeff Hardy (c)

Simply put: Amazing. I could have been wrong when I said nothing was going to top the DX match.

High point of the match had to be a Swanton from a 20ft ladder to the announce table, although The Undertaker returning after the bell was a close second.

Result: C.M Punk wins by grabbing the belt, obviously.
