Hell in a Cell 2009′Lite’ Results

    World Heavyweight Championship Match

    Hell in a Cell Match
    C.M Punk (c)
    Vs.

    The Undertaker

A strange match to put first on the card but a very entertaining one none the less. It all feels a little too…easy though.

Result: The Undertaker claims the title for the first time ever inside Hell in a Cell with a Chokeslam/Tombstone combination.

    Intercontinental Championship Match

    Singles Match
    John Morrison (c)
    Vs.

    Dolph Ziggler

Great match. Well wrestled by both guys and very engaging.

Shame about the outcome but then you can’t win them all (or any in the case of Ziggler and IC title matches.)

Result: John Morrison retains the Intercontinental championship with a Starship Pain.

    Segment 1

    Batista and Rey Interviewed

Batista and Rey talked about how they would win the tag titles tonight.

What else are they going to talk about? Rey’s wellness breach? Nah, I didn’t think so.

    Divas Championship Match

    Singles Match
    Mickie James (c)
    Vs.
    Alicia Fox

What you’d expect really, a dull divas bout.

Result: Mickie James kept hold of her gold with a jumping DDT.

    Unified Tag Team Championship Match

    Tag Team Match
Chris Jericho & The Big Show (c)
    Vs.
    Batista & Rey Mysterio

An interesting match. Mysterio and Batista looked like winning the titles a few times, but it wasn’t to be. I wonder if we’ll see a re-match here.

Result: Big Show hit Mysterio with a Knockout Punch to retain the Unified Tag Team Championships.

    WWE Championship Match

    Hell in a Cell Match
    Randy Orton
    Vs.
    John Cena (c)

Another very good match although the final Punt from Cena was terrible, I bet we don’t see too many replays of that.

Result: Randy Orton reclaims the WWE Championship by Pinfall after kicking out of The Attitude Adjustment earlier in the match.

    Segment 2

    R-Truth Interviewed

Josh Mathews speaks to R-Truth about his rivalry with Drew McIntyre and the match they are about to have next.

Yes that’s right, R-Truth and Drew McIntyre are on the Hell in a Cell card now. It was news to us too.

    Grudge Match

    Singles Match
    R-Truth
    Vs.
    Drew McIntyre

    Result: Match in Progress.

    Segment 3

    Legacy Backstage

Orton gives Legacy some advice about the Cell, warning them against being too cocky.

    United States Championship Match

    Triple Threat Match
    The Miz
    Vs.
    Kofi Kingston (c)
    Vs.
    Jack Swagger

Another good match for the United States Championship which saw all three guys come close to picking up the championship.

Kofi eventually managed to retain, choosing to pin The Miz rather than Swagger at the end of the bout.

Result: Kofi Kingston picks up the pinfall over The Miz after hitting Jack Swagger with Trouble in Paradise.

    Grudge Match

Tag Team Hell in a Cell Match
    D Generation X
    Vs.
    Legacy

Legacy jumped DX before the match and locked Triple H outside of the Cell, making this somewhat of a Handicap Match.

Triple H eventually busted his way into the cell with the help of some bolt cutters and after a Pedigree, threw DiBiase to the outside, turning the tables.

Result: DX win by Pinfall after a Sweet Chin Music/Sledgehammer Shot combination on Cody Rhodes.
