    Breaking Point 2009 ‘Lite’ Results

    Unified Tag Team Championship Match

    Tag Team Match
Chris Jericho & The Big Show
    Vs.
    M.V.P & Mark Henry

Not a bad opener but nothing special either, as usual Jeri-Show cheated to gain the win.

Result: Jericho covered Mark Henry after The Big Show had hit him with the Knockout Blow.

    Segment 1

    Legacy Interviewed

Legacy talked about how they were going to make DX submit tonight, same old stuff really.

    United States Championship Match

    Singles Match
    The Miz
    Vs.
    Kofi Kingston

The Miz controlled the match almost from start to finish and was unlucky not to leave with the title belt.

A great match and suitable substitution for Morrison/Ziggler.

Result: Kingston retains the title with Trouble in Paradise.

    Grudge Match

Tag Team Falls Count Anywhere Submission Match
    D Generation X
    Vs.
    Legacy

Fantastic match although not much of it was actually spent backstage, but rather at ringside or in the crowd.

Legacy looked good for their win and this could be the starting point of a big push for them.

Result: Legacy win by Submission after locking HBK in a Figure 4/Million Dollar Dream combo around the ringpost.

    Segment 2

    Randy Orton Interviewed

Mathews asked Orton for some feedback on the Legacy victory, but the champ seemed more intent on talking about how he was going to make Cena say ‘I Quit’ later tonight.

    Grudge Match

    Singapore Cane Match
    The Great Khali (w/Runjin Singh)
    Vs.
    Kane

    Complete dud.

    Nothing more to be said.

Result: Kane wins by Pinfall after a Chokeslam.

    Segment 3

    C.M Punk Interviewed

Punk talked to Eve about how it should be The Undertaker who is scared and not him.

He touched upon Jeff Hardy’s run in with the police and then beat up Jimmy Wang Yang who mischievously turned the lights on and off.

    ECW Championship Match

    Singles Match
    Christian (c)
    Vs.

    William Regal

Jackson and Kozlov were banned from ringside at the start of the match and in the end Christian was able to pull out a win although Regal controlled the majority of the match.

Result: Christian retains the ECW Championship by Pinfall after the KillSwitch.

    Segment 4

    Pat Patterson?

Pat Patterson came to the ring and talked about his career until Dolph Ziggler interrupted him and eventually attacked him.

John Morrison made the save as Ziggler looked to do more damage, increasing the tension between the two.

    WWE Championship Match

    I Quit Match
    Randy Orton (c)
    Vs.
    John Cena

Pretty good match although it fell into a similar pattern to a few other matches tonight.

Orton dominated the match but Cena refused to quit and eventually turned it round, locking in the STF with an assist from some handcuffs to win the WWE Championship.

Result: John Cena wins and becomes the new WWE Championship.

    World Heavyweight Championship Match

    Submission Match
    C.M Punk (c)
    Vs.

    The Undertaker

In an ending reminiscent of the Montreal Screwjob, Punk locked on the Anaconda Vise and the referee immediately called for the bell and awarded him the victory.

This was after Taker had seemingly won the title with Hells Gate until Teddy Long announced the match should continue because that move is banned. Funny they only bring that up when it’s convenient.

Result: C.M Punk retains the title by Submission… Kind of.

    Just The Results

    3. Legacy defeated DX by Submission.
    4. Kane defeated The Great Khali by Pinfall.
